July-August-September Classes!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Whew! After a few very exciting and busy weeks, things are back to normal at The Yarn Patch. We all enjoyed a long weekend to celebrate the 4th of July, and now we’re ready (and we hope you are too!) to dive into our next adventure! The class schedule for July, August, and September has been announced, and we know you’re going to want to join us for a few of these fun opportunities.

We have FOUR NEW classes to share with you this summer, including projects for knitters of all skill levels and crocheters, too!

If you love colorwork (or think you might!) check out the Baa-ble Hat  (left) or Sliding Loop  (center) classes. The Baa-ble Hat is a wonderful introduction to Fair Isle, a traditional technique that can be as simple or as complex as you want! This pattern is a Ravelry bestseller, and we’ve paired it with a luxurious yarn in a handsome color combination- the complete kit is included in the class. The Sliding Loop class will teach you an unusual way to use a self-striping yarn to achieve a fun effect. Stockinette stripes of varying widths are joined as you knit, making this technique easy but always interesting!

We have a special treat for our crocheters- the Tunisian Entrelac Crochet class (right) will have you hooked on this fast and fascinating technique in no time. Learn the basics of Tunisian crochet, then take things a step further by increasing and decreasing to create conjoined blocks. A self-striping yarn will manage all the color changes for you.

We’re also kicking off a long-term workshop for ALL our fiber friends (knitters, crocheters, weavers, even felters!)- the Year ‘Round Wreath! Make a simple covered wreath, then join us throughout the year to create seasonal accents to decorate your wreath. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore a variety of techniques, and you’ll love displaying your perfectly styled wreath all year long!

We’re also going to revive a few favorite classes for a new group of knitters. Some of these often-requested classes have a waiting list, so don’t hesitate to sign up for these.

The 3-to-2 Any Gauge Sweater (left)  and the Mitered Vest Workshop (right) will empower you to create one-of-a-kind garments customized to fit you and your style- the possibilities are endless! The unusual construction methods used for each (knitting on the bias for the sweater and mitered corners for the vest) are surprisingly fun and easy to knit. Knitters of all skill levels will love using the simple and flexible worksheets to write the perfect pattern every time.  Emily’s first 3-to-2 Any Gauge Sweater was featured in our recent fashion show- and it was a huge hit! The Mitered Vest never fails to turn heads- everyone loves the funky and flattering shape! If you’re ready to try a different approach to garments, join us for one or both of these classes.

Also returning this quarter are Entrelac (top left), Picking Up Stitches (top right), and Two-at-a-Time Socks on One Circular Needle (bottom). Entrelac will teach you an addictively fun way to use self-striping yarns, and the finished “woven checkerboard” look is so stunning no one will believe how easy it was! Picking Up Stitches is a must for all knitters- we’ll learn the right way to pick up stitches in any scenario for smooth, straight edges every time. Finally, if you’re a sock knitter looking to simplify your life, Two-at-a-Time Socks on One Circular Needle will show you how to knit a pair of basic socks with an absolute minimum of effort- and beat Second Sock Syndrome forever!

And don’t forget our ever-popular Mastering Mistakes and Fabulous Finishing. These classes have helped dozens of knitters fine-tune some of their most important skills. If you haven’t joined us for these yet, there’s no time like the present!

You can view the dates for each of these classes and sign up in store or online at http://www.yarnpatch.com/Classes_s/1830.htm We hope to see you there!
