Knitting is the Bomb

Good afternoon, knitters! And May the Fourth be with you!

As you may know, World Wide Knit in Public Day is fast approaching- June 18, to be precise. At The Yarn Patch, we’ve always celebrated the occasion in style. But this year we are doing something a little different, as WWKIP Day coincides with our 10 year anniversary celebration (which you will hear MUCH more about very soon!) In fact, for the first time we will be hosting a WWKIP event which you can participate in locally or long-distance all week long!

Now that you’re all terribly excited, get in the WWKIP spirit by ogling these beautiful examples of yarn bombing! We’ve talked about yarn bombing before, but this street art sensation is still sweeping the nation. If you haven’t yarn bombed something yet, you have just enough time to prepare your own guerilla knitting for WWKIP Day. Get inspired and get to work!

We would LOVE to see your yarn bombs popping up in the future. Just please be sure you have permission to yarn bomb your location- yarn bombing without permission IS vandalism. Have fun!

I have participated in yarn bombing. It’s fun to look at, and can be functional (art is functional, right?).
